WORK EXPERIENCE
2001 - 2006:
Hewlett Packard Systems Engineer responsible for design and implementing web-based business process applications running on a server written in Perl. Responsible for programming and administration of 30+ servers (mostly Linux). Responsibilities included: programming new features in Perl, interfacing with external databases; configuring Samba and Apache servers; writing HTML and JavaScript; designing search engines; automating source control; using GD to create dynamic images; interfacing with users; automating PDFs of all web content. Responsible web systems included: knowledge management, document management, call center ticket tracking, and as-built installation database. Seven patents filed and 4 disclosures published (all user interface related). Authored and demoed a product that won the most votes for 2004 Corvallis Poster Fair.
1993 - 2000:
Hewlett Packard Systems/Controls Engineer responsible for designing, buying
off, and supporting high volume manufacturing automation equipment. Responsible for design and programming in PC based testers written in Perl and C. These machines built over 16 million pens while hosted in Corvallis. Responsible for programming and supporting various machine vision systems.
